Donkey Release – May 25
On Memorial Day, May 25, the Two Mile High Club will host the annual Donkey Release. This cherished tradition honors the donkeys that once worked in our local mines. The ceremony begins at 1 p.m. at C Street and Thurlow Avenue, featuring a reenactor portraying President Teddy Roosevelt, who will provide visitors with a “bully welcome.” The donkeys will then be released to roam freely through town for the summer months.
